John Alahouzos

John Alahouzos is a founding partner of MDG and the firm’s executive vice president.

With more than 50 years of direct mail and capital campaign fundraising experience, John has forged a reputation as an innovator; particularly in the field of international mailing.

As the firm’s executive vice president, John works with MDG’s employees, vendors and clients to maintain the hallmarks of the company’s success – creativity and efficiency.

John’s passion for fundraising is not limited to clients; as an active philanthropist himself, John lends his talents to a variety of nonprofit organizations. He served on the University of Maryland College Park Foundation Board of Trustees from 2010-2021 and also as a member and president (2006-2007) of the managing board of the University of Maryland’s student-athlete scholarship fund (The Terrapin Club) from 2001-2008. He also serves as the treasurer of the American Hellenic Institute Foundation.

John is also a co-founder and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation and serves on the boards of DRWF’s affiliates in the UK, France, Germany, Norway, Finland, and Sweden.

John resides in Washington, DC with his wife, Diane and is an active member of Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral. When he is not helping raise funds, he can likely be found cheering on his beloved Maryland Terrapins.
